Understanding IU Measurements in Dietary Supplements

IU is a different system of measurement units. And what they write, that there are 15000 IU in the dietary supplement, it's much less than in ML. It seems like with vitamin D you need to multiply by 0.025 (read somewhere, idk) to convert to ML. So, 15k x 0.025 = 375ml in one drop? What I wrote is all the information I found on the internet and may have misunderstood. I'm trying to figure out how much of the dietary supplement to take.

In one drop, there's 500 IU. The daily requirement for an adult male is 5000 IU, for women - I don't know. I reckon, 2-3000. In case of a deficiency, initially, you can take significantly more. For instance, I'm currently taking 15000 IU per day. Generally, you should take it in cycles and you can even take up to 300,000 IU at once for a month ahead and then take a break. There won't be an overdose. Overdose will occur if you take more than the norm over an extended period - for several months.

IU - These are international units. It's a unified indicator. The daily norm is 600-800 IU. You can take up to 4000 IU per day without monitoring, as vitamin D does not accumulate in the body and at this dosage, you will not experience an overdose. Anything above 4000 IU, you need to monitor the level in the blood.

What's all this maths about IU and the norm of IU? I take 600 IU for prevention, my vitamin D tests are average, so there won't be any excess or deficiency 😊 You're making things complicated. I get these vitamin D at VB - 94228661, all good 😆

If you have a liquid medication, it should indicate how many IU are in 1 drop. But honestly, I don't like to bother with all these calculations, so I prefer to take vitamins where the manufacturer has already considered the necessary daily dose. That's why I drink Centrum Multivitamin, it contains a full complex of necessary vitamins and elements, including vitamin D, all in optimal daily doses.
