Prescribed Contraceptives for Acne Treatment: Experiences?

Hello, girls! Has anyone been prescribed contraceptives with the "beauty" aim of getting rid of acne? My doctor has prescribed them, but I'm a bit scared to take them, there's so much written on the internet.

I've got a similar problem, been on the pill for about 5 years now. My spots disappeared in the first year of taking it, my skin went from being oily to combination. On the downside - I've lost stamina. I've also got varicose veins and mastopathy, but it's not certain that it's because of the pill. But my doctor told me in no uncertain terms that if I stop taking the pill, I'll become infertile, because high male hormones have a negative effect on my body ☹️.

Oh, I used to struggle with spots too, until I was prescribed Viderm Micro. My skin has significantly improved since then, plus there's no need to worry about contraception anymore. Don't forget to choose the right skincare routine, then you'll definitely cure your spots in combination.

If the cause of acne is polycystic ovary syndrome, then a gynaecologist may prescribe oral contraceptives. If the acne is not related to gynaecology, you can use topical treatments with isotretinoin, that is, Retinoid cream for dry skin or Retasol for oily skin. These medications effectively treat acne. But if it's severe, you may need an oral medication, which can only be prescribed by a doctor, who will determine the appropriate dosage and course.

I was prescribed it, but I didn't start taking it just for that reason. I'd also read about all sorts of side effects, and I have a tendency towards varicose veins ☹️. A friend recommended taking the vitamin complex Acnesent Evisent, I took a course, and my skin condition noticeably improved, the severe inflammations went away.

I've given up on taking the pill. I simply use therapeutic cosmetics according to a specific regimen. I have a line with metronidazole Epiduo. For a month, I use an active cream, foam and lotion in combination, then a care cream for a month. Then, every two weeks with the care cream. If for some reason there are a lot of spots again, a flare-up, I switch back to the active cream. It doesn't dry out.
