If it's teenage acne, unfortunately, it's hard to treat with hormones or retinol. Being acne-prone myself, I've been to doctors so I know. Everything else is nonsense, you could try a cream based on azelaic acid, it might get a bit easier.

For acne treatment, there's a gold standard - acids, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide! Get yourself an acid toner, preferably salicylic acid as it, unlike other acids, cleanses the pore from the inside and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Buy Differin or Adapalene, it's these that are successfully treating pimples all over the civilised world. It's not just that it might help, or might not, its effectiveness is scientifically proven and it's specifically designed for this problem. Start using it carefully, as skin unaccustomed to retinoids will flake a bit, it's not scary, it's normal, it will get used to it and there will be no flaking, you will calmly apply it every day, but start gradually until it gets used to it. And benzoyl peroxide, don't overdo it with this either, it's quite an aggressive tool, it can dry out, use it every other day for example. Benzoyl peroxide in the morning, Differin in the evening, or one day one, the other day the other, before applying go over with an acid toner, then Benzoyl peroxide or Differin, and after half an hour when the ointment is absorbed, you can apply your regular care. And you need care in addition to medicinal products, as they will dry out, and it's better not to allow overdrying and irritation. If you've overdone it with medicinal products (Differin, benzoyl peroxide, acids) then take a break for a few days, but don't abandon treatment, adjust the frequency of use, but use it constantly and everything will be fine. This scheme will help you cure both pimples and post-acne, and also Differin is a very good anti-ageing tool. There is no time limit in this scheme, use it as long as you need, the result will not be very fast, it will take 2-4 weeks to see the effect, but it will definitely be there, this is the best thing in the world for acne. When the pimples go away then you can exclude Benzoyl peroxide, but continue to use acids and Differin for acne prevention, ageing and regular skin renewal. I myself use them constantly even though I don't have pimples.

I myself have been left with serious scars from my youth. Unfortunately, as I grew up, no one could help me deal with my problem. Now my son is 15 years old and uses Retin-A when necessary. It's a highly effective solution that normalises the function of the sebaceous glands, eliminates inflammation, and reduces pores. Since my son has quite the hereditary predisposition, he uses it in courses. The effect is perfectly sufficient for several months, the skin looks very decent, and there are no signs of scarring.

Girls, I've been battling acne for a couple of years now, I've no strength left, I can't bear to look in the mirror... I just don't know what to do anymore, I have quite oily skin and enlarged pores, and severe breakouts... help me get rid of this.

You can't squeeze acne... can you imagine the scars that will be left, especially if you also treat it with alcohol, you might as well say goodbye to your skin. I too suffered from acne, and it seems I've tried everything but all in vain... I once saw an advert on the telly and got myself some Benzoyl Peroxide. The first two weeks it dried my skin a bit but after an hour I applied a moisturising cream and my skin felt much better. Within a month, outbreaks were less frequent, and the old ones disappeared. After three months, my skin was much cleaner, no more major inflammations, just post-acne which I'm treating now. I recommend!
